Thriving Is Co-Creating with Christ

Few people will notice that the artwork in this picture was made from recycled material.  It was made from an old oil barrel by the hands of an African man.  He cut out out a section, hammered it flat, drew the image on it, and then began cutting it out with metal sheers.  He then refined the shape and then hammered designs into it before giving it a final sanding and lacquer.

If you take a closer look at the photo you will also notice little beads of light.  These are not manufactured by an editing program.  They are the beautiful result of a little crystal sphere that hangs in our living room window.  It takes the sunlight and casts it into tiny rainbows all over the floor, walls, and ceiling.  Every sunny day we are reminded of God's promises as the little reflections of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet speckle our home.

How are you thriving right now?  I believe thriving includes co-creating with Christ in this world.  For the carpenter making homes, to the teacher shaping young minds, to the artist who paints reflections of God's creation.  How might you co-create with Christ today and make something beautiful with the gifts and talents you have been given?  Do more than just survive, thrive!
