Searching For Inspiration

What do we do when our creativity, inspiration, and even our will to continually create dries up?  You have felt this before, right?  We can feel distant or even lost from where we once were.  Writers get writer's block and movie producers fail to capture whats inside their imagination and get it into a film.  You know the feeling, it's miserable, isn't it?  We can end up feeling much like this person in the image above.  Simply sitting on the block in the middle of the ocean searching for something of substance.

How do we feel inspired again?  Where does that drive and longing to create get rebirthed in our beings?  I think if you were to research this you would find many different theories.  Some say press on!  Others say move into new areas of life and experience something new.  Some say wait for inspiration to come back.  Some use spirituality or drugs to fabricate inspiration.

I would like to share that there is a measure of truth in all of these approaches, even drugs, which I am NOT recommending.  However, becoming present to the God who loves you and is with you now is the greater truth we all need to realize.  God is the source of all inspiration and the one who calls us to co-create with him in this world.  Consider all that God has created... the heavens, nature, microscopic organisms, and the DNA that he pieced together to uniquely create us.  And the wonderful news is God gives good gifts to his children when they ask, even creativity.

I would urge you to consider your own design as made in the image of our Creator God.  You were made to co-create with God.  How about asking for a fresh dose of inspiration today to bring forth the Kingdom of God in beauty and power.  Once you get the inspiration, give thanks and get creating!
