Making The Most of Restrictions

I took the picture above last January at the border wall in Douglas, Arizona.  The picture is only visible on Agua Prieta, Mexico's side.   What you are seeing is an artists rendering of the human heart with golden wings flying above the thorns. This town actually commissioned artists to come and paint portions of the wall that drivers regularly see while waiting to cross the border to get to work.  Understandably they wanted to and make something ugly beautiful, who can blame them.

I share this reflecting with you because it reminds me we can make something more of our situation if we see it not as a restriction but as an opportunity.   Sure, it is still just a steel wall with razor wire but can't it be more than that?  For those living in Agua Prieta, they said yes.  What restrictions do you have that need to be reimagined as opportunities for something unexpected and beautiful?  I would encourage you to practice and be creative!  Don't let failure or the restrictions stop you from making the most of this moment.
